Customer reviews: how they are published and moderated

This page describes how the customer reviews displayed on hedonistlabs.com are collected, checked and published, in accordance with articles L. 111-7-2 et D. 111-17 à D. 111-19 du code de la consommation (French Consumer Code).

Who collects the reviews

The reviews published on hedonistlabs.com are collected and hosted by means of the Judge.me application. Hedonist Labs does not write any reviews and never alters the content or the rating of a review.

Who can submit a review

Anyone may submit a review of a product from the product page or the Customer reviews page, after confirming their email address. Customers who have ordered on hedonistlabs.com also receive an invitation by email after their order. Reviews linked to an order placed on the site carry the “Verified” label; other reviews do not.

Incentive

No incentive is provided in return for submitting a review.

Publication and checks

Reviews are published automatically as soon as their author's email address is confirmed, without prior screening and regardless of the rating given. Hedonist Labs then checks published reviews against the grounds set out below, during a review carried out at least once a month, and at any time following a report sent to info@hedonistlabs.com.

Grounds for removal

A review is removed where it:

• attributes to the product properties of preventing, treating or curing a disease, regardless of the rating given;
• contains insulting, defamatory or discriminatory statements, or personal data of third parties;
• does not concern the product or the purchasing experience (off-topic, advertising, spam);
• manifestly comes from an author with no experience of the product or is fraudulent in nature.

The rating given is never a ground for removal: negative reviews are published on the same terms as positive reviews.

Informing the author

Where a review is removed, its author is informed by email, together with the reason for the removal, and may submit a new compliant review.

Display and ranking

On each product page and on the Customer reviews page, reviews are displayed by default from newest to oldest; visitors can sort them by rating or display only verified reviews. The submission date of each review is displayed. The average rating and the distribution of ratings are calculated on all reviews published for the product.

The home page features a selection of reviews chosen by Hedonist Labs; these reviews contain no reference to health or to any effect of the product. All reviews remain available on each product page and on the Customer reviews page.

Retention period

Reviews are kept and displayed for as long as the product is offered for sale.

Right of reply and reporting

Hedonist Labs may respond publicly to a review; the response is identified as such. The author of a review may edit or delete it from their Judge.me account. Any review may be reported to us at info@hedonistlabs.com.
